Why "The Anti-Istanbulian"

It is probably worthwhile to give a general explanation as to why this blog was set up. This blog was set up in response to another blog called 'The Istanbulian' in an attempt to debunk some of the myths perpetuated on that blog. As I have been banned from commenting on that blog by the owner, Emre Kizilkaya, for reasons known only to himself, the only way to continue questioning his rather dubious view of Turkey was to set up this blog.

This blog is an attempt to keep Emre honest and to provide an alternative viewpoint on the issues that he talks of. As he is not prepared to post these alternative comments on his blog, then they will be here.
